-Colour Scheme: The colours
follow a consistent pattern of red,
white and black as seen, this fits to the idea of 'indie/ rock' music, relation to the articles style of music. Colour scheme doesn't just relate to the
artists and readers but to the main features of the NME magazine. The red texts
have been used to match with the artists clothing also once again keeping it consistent, this is valuable to the magazine.
-Language: The language in
this magazine is simple and basic for the readers. and parts are written in
slang. This is because the magazine is aimed at students and teenagers so use
of language is super important to relate to the aimed audience, It also
captures what the artist is allowing the reader to relate to her and makes the
article more personal.
-The Pull quote and Cover
title- In this magazine the pull quote takes up most of the double page spread
this addressing the idea that they want to capture the influence of the audience,
and want to capture the readers attention on this quote alone. The letters in
this pull quote are cut outs of a newspaper, giving the double page spread a
rustic and reckless vibe. The design of the pull quote with the contrast of
colours attract the reader to reading the quote, although it also gives
attitudes to the conventional colours NME read may usually wear. As familiar
readers of NME are often associated with Dark and simple colours. Also
different font sizes address to the reader due to not all readers fit into this
stereotype. These are all conventional features which are used to mirror
typical layout magazine yet also relate to the target audience.
-Caption: The caption says
Lily Allen at the top making it clear the Picture is of Lily Allen if people
did now recognise.
-Main Image: This is a Mid
shot of Lily Allen, this shows the reader who they are reading about and if
they didn't know her name is in the caption. The model is wearing black, white
and red this is relating to the colour scheme throughout. This mid shot of Lily
Allen is used to capture her top held of her body, this showing her turned up
wrists, her hands her hips showing she is portraying a 'reckless' attitude to
the magazine. This shot also displays her tattoos also showing her rebellious
side, which readers of this certain magazine could relate to. She is also
starring at the camera (direct contact) this allows a connection between the
reader and her.
